Commander-in-Chief Marshal Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk figure

Born in 1881 in Salonika. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1902 and from the Army War College in 1905. He fought in Tripoli and in the First World War. Gained great success on the Çanakkale front during 1915. With the occupation of the motherland, he landed in Samsun on May 19, 1919 and launched the National Struggle for liberation of Turkey. He opened the way for victories in İnonu Battles. He was appointed as Commander-in-Chief on August 5, 1921. After Sakarya and Baskomutanlık Battles he was appointed Marshal on September 19, 1921 and was granted the title of Gazi. He announced the Proclamation of the Republic on October 29, 1923. He became the first President of the Republic of Turkey. In 1934, he was granted surname Atatürk, meaning “Father of Turks”. With his great revolutions, Turkey became an independent, secular, modern and strong state. One of the greatest soldiers in world history, a great political leader, passed away on November 10, 1938.

It was a very hard task to produce a figure of the founding father of our country. In Turkey, unfortunately, almost 99% of Ataturk statutes scattered throughout the country, are poorly made, not even resembling to Ataturk himself. Therefore, we felt ourselves under great pressure to produce a model figure in world standards, worthy of our great leader. Now, we feel, the figure is ready to be released. We seleceted a special day for its release. On 23 April 1920, in the early days of launch of War of Liberation against major Eurpean powers that occupied our motherland, Turkish patriots led by Ataturk, founded the National Assembly in Ankara. This day, is later presented by Ataturk to children and every year, it is celebrated as National Sovereignty and Children's Day. Turkey is the only country having a festival day for children and this is celebrated together with children visiting Turkey from all over the globe for decades.

The pose of the figure is based on the pose in the below picture. Here, Ataturk, as the victor of great war over occupying forces, tour Anatolia. This picture was taken in Mersin province in 1923. He is in his marshall uniform, has a very stylized walking stick and leather gloves. Soon, Turkey will be proclaimed as Republic.
